In approximately 100 days from now the largest cruise ship ever built will be delivered to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. The Oasis of the Seas is an architectural and nautical marvel that is sure to be a popular vacation destination in itself for many years to come.
Some interesting facts about the ship:
• It is 1081 feet long and 213 feet high above the water line.
• It weighs 220,000 tons.
• It features 16 passenger decks with 2700 staterooms that will accommodate 5400 guests.
• Contains 24 different eateries, 37 bars, and 7 different “neighborhoods.” For example the Central Park neighborhood which will feature not less than 12,000 live plants or the Boardwalk which will feature various carnival style rides, the Aquatheater, and much, much more.
• State of the art, innovative features such as the Rising Tide Bar which is also an elevator that will rise and descend slowly between decks five and eight.
